Kings Removal Services were awarded the contract to assist with the removal and refit for the reimagined and reinvented, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London, by Hong King based design doyen Joyce Wang
Client Requirements:
- To securely store and manage itinerary of all furniture and soft furnishing including beds, wardrobes, side cabinets, lighting, soft furnishings and carpets
- To co-ordinate appropriate insurances, parking, access and security permits
- To move and install all furniture and soft furnishings where appropriate for over 180 rooms, across 9 floors
- Complete to an unfixed schedule to minimise disruption to guests, traffic and ongoing works
- FORS Silver accreditation compliant
- Complete H&S and security courses as required

Key elements of the project included co-ordination of various sub departments to ensure the most efficient, safe and secure relocation and storage of goods
- Considerations included minimal disruption with maximum safety for hotel guest, VIPS and staff, and the safety of our Kings team
- Full tracking for all elements, for security and management of stock control for the high end, luxury interiors
- Full briefing and debriefing each day to ensure our staff were happy with process and procedures in place
- Responsive, flexible repeat of service due to the Hotel fire one week after the most extensive restoration in the hotels 115-year history
The project took place in-between the Royal Park and the bustling Knightsbridge over 12 months with a total crew of over 20 staff and multiple vehicles plus the daily oversight of the move manager.
